Newsweek compiled data and ranked the states based on where tourists reported encountering the kindest residents. The data ranked the states based on how kind residents were based on the opinions of out-of-towners.

The data shows that tourists think highly of us. We were ranked the seventh nicest state in the entire country. Tourists view Coloradans as kind, helpful, and happy.

Minnesota was ranked as the nicest state in the country by tourists. That makes sense—they don’t say “Minnesota Nice” for no reason.

I am a resident of Colorado and I agree with out-of-towners. I believe that Coloradans are incredibly kind, laid-back, and community-oriented. There are going to be negative people of course, but that is the case everywhere you go.
