I feel like I owe everyone an apology. I had reported on Monday that the Thompson School District in Loveland and Berthoud lost their chief operations officer in a traffic accident. What I didn't report is that his wife was also killed in the crash. I apologize for the error, but I was using a press release from the school district as my source and she was never mentioned in the original story.

According to the Loveland Reporter Herald:

Dan Maas, the district's chief operations officer, and his wife, Loan Maas, an educator with Denver Public Schools, died from injuries they suffered in a crash a mile from their Thornton home after a dinner out in Cheyenne, Wyo.

The Maases were driving east on 136th Avenue in Thornton when another vehicle broadsided them in the intersection with Washington Avenue just before 11 p.m. Friday. The other vehicle apparently ran a red light and the driver was arrested. 59-year-old Cassandra Ann Ross of Denver could face careless driving charges in the case.

Again, I apologize for the misinformation and our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved.
