Six Northern Colorado 2016 New Year’s Resolutions
Every January 1, we decide we are going to be the best versions of ourselves. Usually by February 1, our goals have gone out the window but hey, you can't hate us for trying, right?
We like to think we're perfect here in Northern Colorado. We're healthy, adventurous and as the home of more than one university, we're pretty and smart.
However, we know there are some things here and there we could approve on, these being just a few:
- 1
Be Nicer to Other Cities
OK, Fort Collins, let's get our noses out of the air in 2016. Aside from that 'smell of money' sometimes, our surrounding cities aren't bad.
We can all be friends! Except you, Boulder. That's just asking too much.

Drink L̶e̶s̶s̶ More *Local* Beer (21 Up Only)
Most people want to drink less in the new year, but we've got a local economy to support. Just do it responsibly.

Spend More Time Outdoors
We stare at screens all day, every day. Make sure you set aside some extra time in 2016 to...
... hike Lory State Park
... swim or kayak at Horsetooth
... camp at Red Feather
... or just a walk outside in Old Town with your earbuds in.

Eat Healthier
We're one of the healthiest cities in one of the healthiest states. Sure, we're not going to give up our Walrus ice cream or Alley Cat chai shakes, but why not try out some Tasty Harmony or Rainbow Restaurant in 2016?

Drive Less
Hate I-25? Welcome to Colorado. Try out the park-and-ride and carpool, catch the new Bustang (it goes to Denver!), or take the MAX around town this year.
Even better... fix up that bike and take it for a spin in our incredibly bike-friendly community! (Your butt will thank you.)

Go to More Local Shows!
We've got more venues popping up in Northern Colorado now, and really awesome artists in town. Get out and see some live music! (Especially the Taste of Fort Collins.)
