Major Intersection Closure Will Impact Northern Colorado Drivers
In the past few years, no matter what road I seem to take to and from work, which I have gotten used to in my routine, it has somehow been closed for construction. It appears that once again I will have to change up my daily commute as another road from Johnstown to Windsor will be closing.
Major Road Closure Coming Between Windsor and Johnstown/Loveland and Evans
If you happen to travel between Windsor and Johnstown, chances are that you may have taken Weld County Road 13 a time or two on those trips. Soon, you will have to find another route to complete this journey.

Approximately 10,000 vehicles use this intersection daily, and starting on March 30, 2026, Weld County Road 13, just south of Highway 34, will be closed for an extended period of time at the intersection of Weld County Road 54 for the construction of a roundabout.
Additionally, if you travel to Evans or Greeley from south Loveland, east on Colorado State Highway 402, the construction of the roundabout will affect you, too, as the highway turns into Weld County Road 54 once you cross over from Larimer County.
How long will the closure last at the Intersection?
The construction of the roundabout will mean that this intersection will be closed for numerous months, and throughout the summer. The signs informing drivers of the upcoming closure at the intersection say work will be done from March 30, 2026, to October 26, 2026. That is a total of seven months you will need to take an alternate route to and from your destination.
