After a streak of record-setting hot days this week, we'll finally see a cool off. The National Weather Service says that the Fort Collins area will even dip down into the 70s early next week.

Friday, the high will reach 95 degrees with a chance of afternoon storms, and Saturday will likely be the same. Sunday, however, temps aren't expected to break into the 90s, reaching a high of 89 degrees, with a good chance of evening storms. Monday is really where it starts to get good, with a high of 73 degrees expected. After that, high temps are expected to stay in the upper 80s for Tuesday. You can see the full forecast from the National Weather Service here.

Last Tuesday, June 15, Fort Collins reached a high of 103 degrees, while Greeley reached 104 degrees.

Denver International Airport also reached 100 degrees for three days in a row, which hasn't happened very often.

It's been so hot this last week, Denver Mayor Hancock announced that the city has 'cooling centers' that were open to everyone June 15 to June 17.

Fire danger is ramping up with the dry heat, too. According to OutThere Colorado, Stage 1 fire restrictions went into effect in much of the state, including Elbert County, Grand County, Jackson County and more. That means no fires outside of metal or concrete fire rings, no smoking outdoors in most places, no using chainsaws, no welding or using explosives. There aren't currently fire restrictions in Larimer County, but information is updated here.
