
Will Northern Colorado See Any Snow This Winter?
Winter in Northern Colorado has been a bit weird, to say the least. This week, in the middle of January, I had to use my windshield wipers, and not to clean the snowy muck out of my view. Nope. I used my wipers and fluid to remove fresh bug guts from my windshield.
That action is one thing I can honestly say that this is something I have never done in January in Colorado. Yet, here we are. Mid-sixties for temperatures and no snow in sight.
An Unusual Winter for Northern Colorado
It got me wondering, will we get any snow at all this winter in Northern Colorado? With all of the recent Xcel Energy Public Safety Power Shutoffs, it has been a winter to remember, and not in a good way. The dry vegetation, mixed with no moisture and low humidity, makes this winter feel more like fire season than a snow-covered winter wonderland.

While much of Northern Colorado has seen little to no snowfall, our snowiest months of the season are still ahead of us. Historically, February, March, and April are the snowiest months in Colorado.
Could We Still See Significant Snow?
This means we could see a lot of catch-up when it comes to snow in the coming weeks. However, long-range models are showing zero snow in the forecast for much of the Front Range.
