The Colorado State University men's basketball team finally has some continuity leading its bench.

Niko Medved is back after a 12-20 debut as Rams head coach and ready to bring stability to the program that had Larry Eustachy, Steve Barnes and Jase Herl serve as head coaches during the troubled 2017-18 season.

"You feel a little more grounded here in year two," Medved said at CSU men's basketball media day. "We are finally able to develop a little continuity.

"I feel really good about the direction we are going."

The Rams went 7-11 in the Mountain West conference last year, up from 4-14 the previous year.

CSU does lose two of its top three scorers but returns its star center Nico Carvacho who led the team in scoring (16.1 points pewr game) and rebounding (12.9 rebounds per game) last year.

"We knew there would be a lot of transition that first year here," Medved said. "I thought we learned a lot about ourselves. "We got clarity of what we need to do to move this in the direction we want."

Medved had previously been the head at Drake and Furman before accepting the CSU position.

The Minnesota native had been an assistant for the Rams from 2017-2013 under previous head coach Tim Miles.

"He's one of the coaches that really makes you better," said returning guard Kendle Moore. "He's all in and makes sure you are all in too."
