One Colorado driver is in serious trouble after being pulled over on Super Bowl Sunday. The Thornton Police Department shared a photo and the story of a driver who got pulled over after being clocked at almost three times the posted speed limit on Interstate 25.

Thornton Police pulled over the 21-year-old driver in a car that appeared to be a white BMW for going 26 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 25. The tweet says that not only was the driver traveling at excessive speeds but they were also found to be highly intoxicated while driving.

We all know that Colorado drivers like to go fast, especially on the interstate, but this is insane. Especially being intoxicated. The Thornton Police Department said that by getting this driver off of the road, the officer may have saved a life that night.

The speeding vehicle was impounded and the driver was arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving, and driving under the influence. Thornton Police Department did not say what substance the driver was intoxicated by. However, it is believed that alcohol could be the substance in question for the intoxicated driver who was busted in Thornton, Colorado.

The Thornton Police Department tweeted a photo of the radar gun used to clock the driver going 126 miles per hour on Interstate 25 and the photo can be seen below.
