Greeley Police Issue Shelter-in-Place After Armed Disturbance
A terrifying incident out of Greeley early on Sunday morning.
On Sunday, December 14th at approximately 9:05 AM, residents within a a three-block of the 4700 Block of 29th Street received a reverse 9-1-1 text. They were told to shelter in place for their own safety.

Reverse 9-1-1 Alert Sent to Greeley Residents
Less than forty five minutes earlier, Greeley law enforcement responded to reports in the area regarding "a disturbance with weapons," according to a statement from the GPD.
Woman Reports Assault, Suspect Armed With Shotgun
A woman reported that a male in her home assaulted her and was armed with a shotgun. The suspect, a 53-year-old man, barricaded himself inside of this residence.
Officials confirmed that he had initially had been communicating with the Crisis Negotiation Unit, but had stopped all contact.
Suspect Found Dead Inside Greeley Home
The Greeley Police Department’s SWAT team attempted to get the suspect to surrender, according to officials. When officers entered the home they discovered the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
At 5:00 PM the reverse 9-1-1 call was cancelled.

Investigation Ongoing, Identity Not Yet Released
There's no word on the identity of this suspect. Officials did confirm that more information about him will be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office.
