There is a lot of history with the state of Colorado. Colorado became a state in 1876 and we are famously the Centennial State because we became a state 100 years after the Declaration of Independence was signed.

There are many historical sites and buildings that help us understand Colorado’s past. However, the oldest standing building was constructed over 15 years before Colorado officially became a state.

The Discoverer put together a list of the oldest buildings in our nation. The oldest building in Colorado is Four Mile House, which is located on S. Forest St. in Denver.

The home was built by two brothers in 1859 along the Cherokee Trail. The home was first purchased by Mary Cawker who used the home as an inn.

She made money from the home by selling lodging and using the spot as a trading post. Many homes built around this time did not survive the elements. The Four Mile House has stood strong for over 150 years.

The house officially became a historic place in 1969 and was taken over by the city of Denver in 1975.

Four Mile Historic Park in Denver

Four Mile Historic Park is a family favorite in Colorado. The park is the home of a harvest festival, Bright Nights at Four Mile, and other fun events.

The park honors and protects the oldest structure in Colorado, while offering new experiences that will blow your mind. Here is an example of a fun event that happens during the summer months.

HIlariously Nasty 1-Star Google Reviews of Colorado's Denver International Airport

Visiting an airport is rarely fun. Hardly anyone reports having an intellectual experience while being funneled through TSA or spending four hours waiting to catch a connection.

Most of the time, a visit to an airport is just that - a visit to the airport. From time to time, though, trouble can arise, a flight gets delayed, Starbucks on Concourse A doesn't serve your coffee at the preferred temperature, or the bathroom runs out of paper towels.

While most flights are uneventful, some suffer what they might consider a "bad experience." Most are trivial. With that, here's a look at a selection of hilariously nasty 1-star Google reviews of Colorado's Denver International Airport.
