When Teresa Navarrette applied for a position at JBS Foods 17 and a half years ago, she did so with the hope of finding a career that would not only support her family but also provide a steady work-life balance to accommodate their busy schedule.

"My sisters call me 'jack of all trades' because I did hair, I did real estate, I sold cars ... but all of them you had to work on weekends," Teresa says. "At that time I had young kids and I didn’t have a babysitter, so I needed something that was more Monday through Friday."

Teresa got the job at JBS and served in a variety of departments until she worked her way up to her current position as one of the only female rendering supervisors in the U.S.

Now, Teresa gets to use her problem-solving skills and out-of-the-box thinking to lead and encourage her tight-knit team every single day while still supporting her family, some of whom have joined her at JBS.

"I love my job. I really do. I love the process," she says. "A lot of times, the employees are like 'go get Teresa, she can figure this out.' I tend to think outside the box...being able to problem solve a lot of our area quickly and them looking up to me for that reason is a good feeling."

Teresa also loves that JBS has cultivated a culture of comfort and trust. She knows her team has her back, just like she has theirs — and that's what makes Teresa JBS proud. If you or someone you know is ready to see their career dedication and motivation rewarded, learn more about the opportunities at JBS at jbsfoodsgroup.com.
