Easy Delicious Game Hens and Rice
I love cornish game hens. I don't know why I don't make them more often because they are so easy and tasty. Every one gets their own tasty bird complete with wishbone and just tears into it. I always feel like I am sitting at the Excalibur in Las Vegas. I like to rip into the bird and yell "Ha-zah". Here is a quick and easy recipe for a great meal.
Get yourself some 22 oz hens, thaw them and pat them dry. The most important part of the process is to dance your hens before cooking. I like to stand them up and have them do a rumba, line dance or pasa doble. After you have properly danced your hens rub the skin with butter then season them with salt and pepper and paprika. Put them on a shallow baking pan and bake as directed on wrapper. Baste them with butter every 15 to 20 minutes for a nice brown skin. I usually put them on broil for the last 5 minutes to really brown them up. For the a great side dish I like to make a couple of boxes of Uncle Ben's Long Grain and Wild Rice. Cook the rice as directed then add a can of cream of chicken soup. Stir it up and put in a baking dish. Bake for 40 minutes and serve with hens. You will be a culinary hero. Enjoy
