We surprised Brian pretty good last week. Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith, Poudre Fire Authority Chief Tom Demint, Loveland Police Department Assistant Chief Tim Brown, and Realities for Children President and founder Craig Secher all showed up at the radio station on Thursday morning to make a special presentation to Brian for his 30 years of service to the Northern Colorado community.

The Sheriff and I started planning the surprise several weeks ago. On Thursday, Brian was presented a giant 30-year participation trophy and a key that may be used as a get into jail free token. This YouTube video shows the presentation of the over-sized trophy:

Chief Demint also presented Brian with a real firefighter helmet, which wasn't quite finished for the presentation, but Brian will receive it at a later date. Brian's wife, Kyla, and his grandsons Zayden and Zander were also there for the big surprise, which included the Sheriff showing up in a vintage police car.

Thanks to my wife, Jenny, for taking these wonderful pictures of the presentation.
