Dog Food Recalled After Euthanasia Drug Found in Product
A dog food brand is recalling its product after discovering it contained the euthanasia drug pentobarbital.
According to USA TODAY, 12-ounce cans of Evanger's Hunk of Beef Au Jus is being recalled in 15 states. Luckily Colorado is not one of those states, but if you have family members in Washington, California, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, Georgia, and/or Florida, you may want to share this with them and be sure they're not feeding the recalled food to their pets.
Evanger's is recalling Hunk of Beef products made the same week with lot numbers that begin with 1816E03HB, 1816E04HB, 1816E06HB, 1816E07HB and 1816E13HB, with a June 2020 expiration date. The barcode's second half says 20109. Ill and deceased dogs ate food from the 1816E06HB13 lot, reports USA TODAY.
