We're in a drought, we've been in a drought for a while now and this year's wildfires are proof that we NEED precipitation in any form but especially snow in the high country. Snow helps with the fires, water supply and in the spring when it melts, provides our streams, rivers and lakes to flourish.

That's why this weekend is a nice start to what hopes to be a snow packed winter in the Rockies.  While we down here in the lowlands will be spared with the snow as temps will pretty much be in the 40's and 50's, it will be pretty windy on Saturday as the high country gets some much needed snow. The bulk of it will be falling Friday night through Noon on Saturday with up to 10 inches in many areas as ski resorts continue to slowly but surely open up.
