Colorado’s Top Cell Phone Provider Suffers Major Leak To Dark Web
Innovative technology does make our lives easier in Colorado, but sometimes the advancement in tech can come back and bite us.
Take a moment and think about the type of data you have stored on your phone. Autofill passwords, email addresses, social security numbers, and more are consistently vulnerable.
Think about it this way: Do you know what your mobile banking password is? Or do you rely on Face ID on your iPhone?

I do not mean to sound like anti-tech. I love technology and I try to have the most up-to-date technology that I can afford, but data leaks can happen. Unfortunately, a major data leak happened to Colorado's top cell phone provider.
AT&T Data Leak in Colorado
If you have AT&T you might want to monitor your finances and information. ABC News has reported that 73 million current and former customers had their data leaked on the dark web.
The data leak primarily affects former users of AT&T, however, millions of current customers had information stolen.
AT&T Will Contact You
AT&T recommends that every customer needs to change their passcode immediately. In addition, the provider says that they will reach out to all customers who had their data stolen. We can imagine that the process is going to take some time.
If you have had AT&T since before 2019 you might feel the impact of the data leak.
To the best of our knowledge, the compromised data appears to be from 2019 or earlier and does not contain personal financial information or call history.
The fact that financial information is safe is relieving. However, we would recommend keeping an eye on your accounts and signing up for fraud alerts.
