An accident involving a semi-truck, and possibly another vehicle, has shut down I-76 in both directions. It's not clear yet what exactly is involved or injuries.

UPDATE/4:09 p.m.: Sources say it looked like the refrigerator unit had caught on fire and the driver was seen trying to unhook the tractor from the trailer.

A friend of mine, Roger Schmidt, was on his way home from Denver about 3:00 p.m. today when he came across this accident that had just happened on I-76 where it joins with Hwy 85. It's not clear how many vehicles are involved, if any, besides the semi.

The cause of the fire is also unknown at this time but the front was in the median, crashed into center fence, with the rear blocking both lanes. Photo and video courtesy of Roger Schmidt.

I-76 has been shut down between CO 2 and US 85. WB traffic being diverted at Sable and EB traffic is being diverted onto US 85.
