A Peacock and Five Other Birds Currently Available for Adoption at LHS

Cats and dogs are commonly adopted out of local shelters in northern Colorado, but there are lots of other animals in need of permanent homes too.

From reptiles and guinea pigs to fish and mice, there are lots of smaller critters currently available for adoption in our area.

If birds are your thing, the Larimer Humane Society has several that are searching for new homes.

Jul is a beautiful male peacock who is currently being housed at the humane society.

Toast is an adorable duck looking for somewhere fun to live. The bird can be adopted for $5 or together with another duck for a total of $8.

Crumb is another duck available for adoption. Like Toast, it's $5 for the solo duck or $8 for two.

Who knew pigeons could be kept as pets? Peter is available for $15 or adopted as a pair with his brother Paul for $25.

Like his brother Peter, Paul is also a 14-year-old pigeon. He can be taken home for $15 or adopted together with Peter for $25.

Another colorful option is Patrick, the 3-year-old parakeet. He's available for $15, or along with another bird for $25.
