15 Unique Colorado Brewfests Now Through August

Here's a great excuse to get away and take in a different atmosphere this spring and/or summer and drink or at least sip.

We'll start as local as possible, then get to some righteous day-trip destinations, and wrap up in the Denver area:

Colorado Brewer's Festival - Washington Park in Fort Collins, June 22nd-24th Noon-6.  100+ CO beers from 40+ breweries, and live music. downtownfortcollins.com

Burning Can Fest at the Lyons Outdoor Games - June 2nd 9:30a-11p.  Way more than the dozens of breweries, this has a reputation as one of the largest outdoor-lifestyle festivals in the country.  Tons of camping and live music as well as athletic stuff.  oskarblues.com

Colorado Brewers Rendezvous - June 14th 1-5p, Riverside Park in Salida.  A town that always feels like you've discovered a well kept, super fun secret.  One of my favorite Colorado getaways every time even when no events are happening!  colorado.ourcommunitynow.com

Leadville BBQ & Brew Festival - June 22nd-23rd 11-5.  The world's highest barbecue competition (in terms of altitude, anyway.)  leadvillebbq.com

Reds, Whites, & Brews in the Boat - June 23rd 12-5, Steamboat Springs.  Just one of numerous times a year Yampa Street is a party.  redswhitesandbrews.net

Rocky Mountain Beer Festival Tour - June 23rd 1-6, Community Park in Louisville.  In addition to the standard brewfest fun, you can leave this one saying you played lots of unique lawn games in Boulder County.  More here

Wild West Fermentation Fest - June 29th-30th 5-9p, Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs.  This one is... so much about the setting.  If you've been to Glenwood, you know!  roaringforkevents.com

Keystone Bluegrass & Beer Fest - August 4th-5th Noon-5:30 on Ida Belle Drive.  Where the Keystone Bluegrass & Beer Festival includes more than 14 live acts.  keystonefestivals.com

Breckenridge Summer Beer Festival - July 7th Noon-5, Beaver Run Resort in Breck.  Because nothing combines excitement with major relaxation like this place.  breckenridgebeerfestival.com

The Winter Park Beer Festival - August 4th, Hideaway Park.  Just the summer drive down I-70 and up Berthoud Pass is enough to revive anyone's soul.  winterparkbeerfestival.com

Bruises & Brews Beerfest - August 25th-26th Noon-4, Infinity Park in Glendale.  Major highlights:  Rugby and cider, not just beer ;)  glendalebeerfest.com

Denver Beer and Bacon Classic - May 12th, Mile High Field.  30 or so bacon-filled dishes from local chefs.  universe.com  

Parker Brewfest - August 18th 2-5, O'Brien Park.  For the third year, you can take in unlimited samples!  parkerbrewfest.com

Denver Summer Brew Fest - July 27th-28th 7-10pm, Mile High Station.  All guests get a free souvenir mug, and v.i.p.'s get in on MouCo cheese sampling.  Here's more
