President Barack Obama was scheduled to speak this morning at a campaign stop in Fort Myers, Florida. Instead of speaking about his upcoming re-election campaign, he instead delivered a speech on the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

Reports of booby traps in the apartment of Aurora theater shooting suspect James Holmes have authorities treating the scene with extreme caution. Holmes, 24, was captured by police without a struggle after the horrific incident at the theater early this morning.

My heart is broken this morning. Just like everyone else I woke up ready for a Friday. I was ready to have a fun morning goofing around on the air and celebrating the end of the work week. That all changed when I found out about the shooting in Aurora. I cannot wrap my brain around it. I do not understand how this can happen. How can someone be so messed up and have no one know it?

According to ABC News, a San Diego woman, Arlene,  identifying herself as the mother of the suspected shooter at the Aurora movie theater late last night says "you have the right person.” Referring to the suspected shooter James Holmes of Aurora.

A gunman wearing a gas mask set off an unknown gas and fired into a crowded movie theater in suburban Denver at a midnight opening of the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 12 people and injuring at least 50 others. According to the Moviegoers many didn't know what was happening and some thought the attack was part of the show...

President Obama sent this press release this morning concerning the shooting in Aurora overnight.

Details continue to emerge from Aurora this morning, following a shooting at at a mall movie theater around 1 a.m. during a showing of 'Batman: Dark Knight Rises.' Police said 12 people were killed and another 50 injured. More than 250 responded to the theater, where one person, recently identified as 24-year-old James Holmes, was taken into custody.
