Larimer County Search and Rescue Benefit Concert Scheduled in Estes Park

Get ready for a fun night under the stars in Estes Park, while helping a great cause at the same time. The Larimer County Search and Rescue is an all-volunteer non-profit that provides search and rescue equipment and highly skilled SAR personnel that provides services at no charge. You can help them raise funds at a special benefit concert in Estes Park coming up in August.

The concert is scheduled for August 18th at 6:30 p.m. at Performance Park in Estes Park featuring the bluegrass band, Gittyup Kitty.

Larimer County Raccoon Confirmed to Have Rabies + Ways to Keep Your Pet Safe

Larimer County confirms that a raccoon has tested positive for rabies. The raccoon was found in southeast Fort Collins. According to Larimer County, this is the first positive raccoon ever reported in Larimer County, and the first in a Front Range county in Colorado since 1963. The only other rabid raccoon found since then was in Cheyenne County in 2008.

Fort Collins Police Department Set’s Up Collection for Victim’s Families of Today’s Aurora Shooting

The Fort Collins Police Department has a collection center for families of the victims of this morning’s shooting in Aurora. You can stop by the corner of Mulberry and College in Fort Collins until 6:30 p.m. Friday night to make a donation.

Larimer County Officials Ease Up on Fire Restrictions

Larimer County Officials are easing up a bit on fire restrictions and they plan to hold a meeting for those that lost their home in the High Park Fire.  Contained open fires are now allowed in the unincorporated areas of Larimer County. This means fires in camp stoves and grills using gas or pressurized liquid or those in permanently constructed, stationary, metal or masonry fireplaces such as those fireplaces located in campgrounds and masonry or metal fire pits. Please keep in mind that there is still no open burning and no use fireworks is allowed.
