Chacin’s Rough Start Leads to Rockies 7-6 Loss to Dodgers
Colorado Rockies (11-12) starter Jhoulys Chacin gave up a career-high seven earned runs on 11 hits and four walks while pitching the Rockies into a 7-0 hole in just 4 2/3 innings last night in Denver. Colorado rallied late, but came up short, resulting in a 7-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers (17-7). Game 3 of the series is at 1:10 this afternoon at Coors Field (TV: none).
Rockies Top Hot Dodgers 6-2, Go Again Tonight
Starter Juan Nicasio and the Colorado Rockies (11-11) combined to beat the hottest team in baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers (16-7) 6-2 last night in Denver. Nicasio got the win pitching six good inning, and the Rockies bullpen was strong. The two teams meet up again tonight at 6:40 at Coors Field (TV: Root Sports).

Tying the game with a Todd Helton pinch-hit grand slam in the eighth, and again with a solo Carlos Gonzalez home run in the tenth, proved not to be enough as the Colorado Rockies (10-11) fell to the New York Mets (13-9) 6-5 in 11 innings yesterday afternoon in Denver. After pounding out 18 runs on Friday night, the Colorado Rockies (10-10) could only muster five runs on nine hits, falling to the visiting New York Mets (12-9) 7-5 last night. Denver Broncos Trade Picks, No First Round Selections
Friday should be a busy day for the Denver Broncos after trading away their first round pick tonight, allowing the team to gain additional picks on day two of the draft. Denver now has eight picks to make, including two second round picks and three fourth round selections. As expected, QB Andrew Luck was the first overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts.
Rockies Split Double-Header with Pirates, Host Mets Friday
