
Thoudsands Could Lose Power During Windstorm in Colorado
The talk of nearly all of Northern Colorado is the upcoming fact that many could be without power this Wednesday, as Xcel Energy has announced the possibility of Public Safety Power Shutoffs for many Colorado residents.
Fire Weather Watch Issued for the Front Range
The National Weather Service issued a Fire Weather Watch for much of the Front Range of Colorado. As a result, Xcel Energy could shut off power to thousands in Northern Colorado.

In addition to the Fire Weather Watch, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for Wednesday, December 17, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Winds are expected from the west with speeds ranging from 30 to 50 miles per hour, and gusts up to 80 miles per hour, with humidity levels as low as 15 percent.
According to the outage map on Xcel Energy, thousands in Northern Colorado could experience power loss during this weather event.
Northern Colorado Locations Impacted by Xcel's PSPS
Boulder County residents north of Longmont could experience power loss, with a possible 160 customers affected.

In Larimer County, the town of Berthoud could be affected, with just over 1,300 residents possibly losing power. Timanth and East Fort Collins could also be affected, with over 2,600 customers affected.

The community that could see the biggest impact during Xcel Energy's Public Safety Power Shutoff is in Weld County. The town of Windsor appears to be the most affected, with the possibility of more than 5,000 customers facing power loss.
