Colorado’s Favorite Gas Station Isn’t the One Most Would Think
Road trip season is in full swing, and many tourists are making their way to Colorado this summer, as well as many who are traveling through the state to other destinations, and residents of Colorado are leaving the state as well. While some prefer to fly, there is still something special about a good old-fashioned family road trip. When it comes to road tripping, stopping at the gas station is a must to use the bathroom, get snacks, and to fill up. Which gas station is Colorado's favorite, and what is the state's go-to snack from the gas station?

Anytime you stop at the gas station on a road trip, you have to get a snack to help you get to the next one. It helps the time go by, it fills those hunger desires, and everyone knows there are no diets on a road trip. A recent study by hartleylawtx.com revealed each state's favorite gas station snack. While some states prefer chips and others prefer candy, not in Colorado. According to the study, Colorado's favorite gas station snack is Duke's Smoked Sausages. This is surprising, as someone who lives in Colorado and went through the state many times before living here, I have never seen or heard of Duke's Smoked Sausages. The number one snack in America was Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream, which was the favorite in five states, followed by Little Debbie Swiss Rolls in four states, and Planters Trail Mix being third and the favorite in three states.

Now that we know what people are getting, where is the favorite place to fill up tanks in Colorado? While some might assume it is Buc-ee's, they would be wrong. According to the study, King Soopers is the number one choice for filling up in Colorado. There are more of them, and they have been around much longer, so perhaps this isn't a surprise. Buc-ee's, Mobil, and Shell all tied at the top of the list, each is the favorite choice in three states. Seeing how three states is the most, it shows that most in America seem to prefer local gas stations over some of the bigger national chains.
