Could a nuclear war be on the way? Many Americans fear with what is happening overseas right now that eventually a war could be on our hands, and that World War 3 is close to happening. It is justified to be concerned. There is a reason gas prices are going up, other countries aren't getting along, and everyone seems to be waiting for the right time to fire missiles at one another. If by chance the dreaded World War 3 were to happen, which states would be the safest and which states should have the most concern? Is Colorado a safe place to stay or a state you should be worried about?

There are still those alive who remember World War 2, and likely hoped to never be alive for another world war, but sadly, there is a chance that World War 3 could be happening sooner than later. If attacked, where in the United States would be targeted? Odds are, you have thought about where you would go and where you think you would be safest. Most would look to avoid living on the coasts as some of the most populated places in the country are near the coast, like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, and New York City, to name a few. Perhaps the worst place to live would be Washington, D.C., since the country's leaders live there. Living in the middle of the country, would Colorado be a great place to be if a war did happen?

While assuming the places above would be targets isn't a bad thought, but likely whoever launches a missile would target other places in the country. They would want to target areas that they know have weapons, specifically missiles, and places that have military bases as well. According to a recent report, if World War 3 were to happen, 8 states would be the most dangerous to live in, and sadly, Colorado is one of them. According to the report, the most at-risk states are Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota. The reasoning these states are in the most danger is because they are home to missile silos that would likely be targeted in case of a nuclear war.

Truly, no place would be safe in the United States if a nuclear war did break out, but knowing that Colorado would likely be a targeted area, does this make you second-guess your plan moving forward? Hopefully, we never find out how safe or in danger certain states are, but it is good to know that Colorado is not where you want to be if World War 3 happens.
