Let's go jump in a lake. BRRRR.

Up until a few days ago, when I  drove by Windsor Lake, I noticed that it was mostly iced over with the exception of a few thawed areas.

We've had some warmer days that have thawed the lake out a bit more, but with the pending snowstorm and single-digit temps returning in the next week, it should be nice and icy again...perfect timing for this polar plunge.

According to the Greeley Tribune, the Polar Plunge, which benefits the Special Olympics, is coming to Windsor Lake on March 27. There is a donation minimum of $75 to plunge, but if you're a student, that minimum is $50. All proceeds go directly to help our friends at Special Olympics by helping over 15,000 of its athletes.

This will be my first year in Colorado for this particular event in Windsor, but I did partake in the Polar Plunge in Seattle last February. It was a blast. COLD, but a blast and for a wonderful cause.

Yes, I was a big baby and didn't do it shirtless, but then again, nobody wants to see me shirtless, even for a great cause.

In addition to the Windsor plunge, there will be events held all over the state, including ones in Boulder, Aurora and Colorado Springs.
