As we wind down 2015, there has been one question that I hear constantly on the minds of Northern Colorado residents. Will the roadside shooter from earlier this year ever be tracked down?

According the Denver Channel 7, the task force investigating the shootings says that the investigation is still very active and that they are still looking for leads and information that result in the suspect's capture.

But with 2016 getting ready to begin, many Northern Colorado residents are wondering why the person responsible for the acts in the middle of the year is still at large.

Here is a full list of the shootings that have been linked to each other:

  • Cori Romero, a Milliken woman, was shot in the neck while she was driving on Interstate 25, near Harmony Road, on the night of April 22. She survived and has been released from the hospital.
  • John Jacoby, 48, was shot and killed on the morning of May 18 while riding his bike north of Windsor, on County Road 15, just south of County Road 72.
  • A motorcycle rider was shot at on June 3, at approximately 10:30 pm, while riding near the intersection of Denver Drive and East 18th Street in Loveland. The person was not injured.
  • Also on June 3, at approximately 10:45 pm, William Connole was shot and killed while standing at the intersection of East 1st Street and North St. Louis Avenue in Loveland.

Throughout the year, there were many other reports of window shatterings on I-25 that not only captured the local area but also gained national attention. Here was a report done by ABC News back in June with their coverage of the shootings:

The task force has said that more than 340,000 cell phone numbers have been processed and over 500 interviews conducted. However, it still hasn't gotten them to their ultimate goal of finding the person responsible.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering up to $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the four original shootings.

If you have information regarding the shootings, call the Tip Line at 970-498-5595 or email

The question is...Will 2016 be the year that this person is caught? Or has the Task Force hit a dead end in their investigation? Hopefully we'll know that answer soon.
