What Is Colorado's "Dirtiest" City?

I've lived in Colorado my entire life and haven't ever considered our state to be among the "dirtiest" but with 6 cities in the top 200, maybe we are? Colorado is a very destination location to come and live these days and the more people that come here, the dirtier things can get. LawnStarter.com did some digging and put together a list of the 200 dirtiest cites in America, and six  Colorado cities landed on that list. So, who's the "dirtiest?"

LawnStarter based their rankings around many metrics including pollution, population density, air and water quality, the city homeless rate, water regulations, and more. Mostly thanks to the pollution in this city, Aurora, Colorado, landed at number 33 across the nation. 42 was the cities pollution rank. Living conditions ranked 92. Citizen Satisfaction with city cleanliness rank was 51, and infrastructure ranked 38.

The other five of the six "dirtiest" Colorado cities include:

Denver, Colorado, at number 59. Being our state's Capitol City, I'd have pegged this to be our "dirtiest" for sure.

And wrapping Colorado cities making the "dirtiest" cities list is NoCo's own Fort Collins, Colorado.

Obviously, the higher the ranking number, the less dirty the city but based on population alone, and all that comes with a high number of people, all of these six make perfect sense. The top three "dirtiest" cities are Newark, New Jersey at number three, Los Angeles, California, at number two, and Palmdale, California at number 1. I had absolutely pegged LA to be number one but it was pretty close. See who else made the top 200 HERE.
