Crazy Busy Traffic Weekend in Fort Collins Because of USA Pro Challenge, Fort Collins Peach Festival & CSU Students’ Returning
The USA Pro Challenge, Fort Collins Peach Festival and the students return to CSU this weekend, which will make traffic absolutely nuts in Fort Collins. If you thought last weekend's NewWestFest made traffic bad - Just wait!
The USA Pro Challenge is the biggest event ever to hit Fort Collins! Riders from Olympic medalists to Tour de France winners will race through the streets of Fort Collins on Aug. 24th. The sixth stage of the seven-stage race will end in Downtown Fort Collins.
The same day as the race is the third annual Fort Collins Peach Festival hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Fort Collins. The event at Hughes Stadium will feature Palisade peaches, pie, cobbler a 5K run/walk and entertainment for the entire family.
On top of all of that, CSU students are returning to school for the fall semester. More than 5,000 students are expected to move back to campus from Aug. 20th-25th. Expect some road closures and increased traffic. The city of Fort Collins is encouraging everyone to take public transit, walk or ride your bike downtown this weekend to avoid delays.
