The woman who is allegedly running the unlicensed daycare facility, Amanda Anderson, has received numerous cease and desist letters. A licensing specialist visited the facility/home after a complaint was made in 2018, but no one answered, according to KDVR.

Amanda Anderson contacted the specialist via email and was sent a cease and desist letter, which she signed and returned. According to KDVR, Amanda stated that she was 'operation under exemption guidelines' and would apply for a license.

The day that the infant was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, August 26, Amanda Anderson refused to let authorities into her home. Authorities returned to her facility/home the next day and found 16 children there.

According to KDVR, the infant's death at the unlicensed daycare in Parker is currently under a multi-department investigation. There are over 1,600 homes with licenses to care for children in Colorado according to KDVR, and choosing a licensed child care facility means that background checks and training have both been executed.
