
UNC Sophomore Qualifies For NCAA Track & Field Championsips
University of Northern Colorado sophomore Trevor Evanson has qualified the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. Trevor is a high-jumper.
Evanson is a native of Golden, Colo., has finished either first or second in every outdoor meet this season, including winning the Big Sky Outdoor Championship and making every first jump at the NCAA West Regional to qualify for the NCAA Championship. Trevor is the first male student-athlete at Northern Colorado to do that since UNC has become a Division I School.
At the NCAA Championships, Evanson will be facing 2012 Olympic medalists Erik Kynard of Kansas State and Derek Drouin of Indiana. Kynard won the silver medal for the United States in London, while the Canadian Drouin was one of three bronze medalists.
Evanson and the remainder of the field begin jumping at 4:20 p.m. (MT) on Friday. Live results will be available for the entire four days of the championship at ncaa.com.
