Two Colorado bear cubs are getting a new shot at life after being rescued by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The two bear cubs were rescued in different parts of the state and released into the wilderness of Boulder County on Friday.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife Tweeted the story on X saying that the pair of bear cubs, not related, spent months at the Del Norte Rehab Facility. One of the bear cubs was found wandering in Longmont, Colorado, earlier this year and the other was located in the Colorado Springs area.

While the bear cubs were at the Del Norte Rehab Facility, they were cared for and were started on a scaled-back feeding schedule to mimic conditions in the wild as a signal to you young bears that hibernation season was happening soon. Colorado Parks and Wildlife say they did this to set the bear cubs up for success in the wild as they want bears to thrive in Colorado.

Colorado is home to black bears and if you encounter one, you should make yourself appear big, yell loudly, and retreat from the area where the bear is slowly.
