Two Americans in Italy – Trevi Fountain in Rome [PICTURES]
Trevi Fountain or Fontana di Trevi is the largest Baroque fountain in the city of Rome. A traditional legend says that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome.
The fountain was one the most surprising things my wife and I visited on our trip to Italy. What was so surprising was how many people were. The Colosseum only allows 3,000 people in at a time. There were more people than that at the fountain, when we showed up.
Just a note; there is a really good gelato shop close to Trevi Fountain.
