Nearly everyone I talk to when this subject comes up says they cannot do it. From what I understand, I am a bit of a control freak when it comes to everything in life. When I board a plane for a flight, I know that I no longer have any type of control, and for that reason, I feel that is why I can sleep like a baby on any plane.

One of the things that every single person I have ever spoken with can agree on is that taking your shoes off at the airport is terrible. I went so far as to not have to take my shoes off to put my feet on the dirty airport floor and got TSA Precheck. That is one of the perks of paying for that service.

Why TSA Precheck Might Not Be Worth It Anymore

Like any good thing, people started catching on, and soon enough, the TSA Precheck lines at most airports are sometimes longer than the actual security lines. There has been more than one occasion where I am flying with someone who does not have TSA Precheck, and they told me to go through and they would meet me on the other side. Every time, they had to wait for me... all because I didn't want to take off my shoes at the airport.

Since 2006, TSA has been making passengers take off their shoes to go through airport security, and now, TSA Precheck or not, you will no longer have to take off your shoes at Denver International Airport.

Policy Shift at Major Airports Across the U.S.

According to ABC News, the Transportation Security Administration sent out a memo late last week stating a new policy will allow all passengers to keep their shoes on in all security lanes at major airports from here on out.

This means no more scurrying to get your shoes off as a giant line forms behind you at Denver International Airport's security check lines. So if you were contemplating getting TSA Precheck solely to keep your shoes on while flying, you might want to rethink your purchase if that was the only deciding factor.
