Thursday Morning Merle – A 6-Pack of Cover Versions of The Hag

There are few better ways to start the day than with a little Merle. I think it should be a daily requirement to listen to at least one Haggard tune each day to put you in the right frame of mind. Cody Johnson even has a song on his new album called 'Monday Morning Merle' in which he sings the same sentiment I just spoke of.

On this date in 1981 Merle hit number one for the 26th time when his classic barroom sing a long 'I'll Just Stay Here and Drink' hit the top.
