Tis' the season for thunderstorms. Every year around this time, the clearest and sunniest of days can end in a thunderstorm, and yesterday was one of them. Most of the day, there was barely a cloud in the sky when all of sudden, some formed in the distance. And before long, they were brewing.

Personally, I love thunderstorms. I love watching the clouds forming and seeing and feeling the storms roll in. That feeling in the air is hard to describe in words, but the air is just different when a storm is brewin', and it's something that I've always loved.

While we had some thunder and lightning earlier this spring, there hasn't really been a true blue, full-blown thunderstorm with big lightning and loud claps of thunder until last night.

Apparently many other people throughout Northern Colorado were just as excited as I was for a good old-fashioned thunderstorm judging by the number of pictures that were coming in during the "festivities" last night.

At around 8:15 p.m. or so, the thunderclouds really started to roll in, and the colors that were featured in the sky were nothing short of stunning. It looked and felt awesome, and while we were approaching bedtime for my little one, we stayed up for a while just to admire the sights and sounds of the incoming storm.

Before long, the lighting and thunder followed, and over the next 90-120 minutes, it was on full throttle. Our first big thunderstorm was on and as cool as that was, it was even cooler seeing all of the pictures that listeners posted up on our Facebook page.
