Last Call For Summer: These Northern Colorado Favorites Are Closing

Labor Day is fast approaching, and if you're like me, maybe you didn't even realize all of the things that change after the holiday.

Maybe you're too busy buying hot dogs and beer. Maybe you're taking a family trip to the mountains for much-needed rest and relaxation. Maybe, just maybe, you plan on sleeping all day long with the curtains drawn. Heaven.

But did you know Labor Day is more than just a holiday for us common folks? A lot happens after Monday, so let's take a look.

First, let's touch on water attractions because this summer has felt like we're living on the surface of the sun. Pools, splash pads, and water parks have been a heaven-sent experience in the past few months. Sadly, those close down after Labor Day. Here's the list.

Fort Collins

• City Park Pool
• Splash pads at Spring Canyon Park and Fossil Creek Park. Here's some good news: the splash pad at the Oak Street Plaza stays open (weather permitting) until October 1st.

Windsor

• Chimney Park Municipal Pool

Greeley

• Discovery Bay Water Park, Centennial Pool, and Sunrise Splashpad are done for the season.
• Be sure to check the times for the last day of operation, as they may differ from the regular schedule. We do know that Discovery Bay operates from 12-6 on Labor Day.

Loveland

• Fairgrounds Park, Loveland Sports Park, Mehaffey Park, Winona Outdoor Park.

So if you have little tadpoles at home, be sure to get out there and enjoy the pools, splash pads, and water parks one last time before the season is gone.
