It’s been 100 years since a total eclipse crossed the U.S. from coast to coast. On August 21, 2017, it’ll happen again.  It’s a Monday, you’ll have to take a day’s vacation time. It should be worth it, though!

The Great American Total Solar Eclipse! What a party this sucker’s going to be! On August 21, 2017, from Oregon to South Carolina it will cross America with a 70-mile wide band of darkness. Shots! Let’s take the day off, get in the car and ROAD TRIP!

Buckle up campers, as we are headed to Wheatland, Wyoming! It’s about an hour and 45 minutes from here, right off of I-25. Easy, breezy.  The eclipse will cross the entire state of Wyoming. So, if you WANTED to, you COULD go up to Grand Teton National Park and see it, but that sounds like you’d be taking a COUPLE of days off. Wheatland lies closest to Northern Colorado for the phenomenon. Way to go, Wheatland!

Let’s just get up around 6:00 a.m., grab some breakfast and then head out. The eclipse will begin around 10:30 MDT, with the full eclipse happening (for about 50 seconds) at around 11:45 MDT, so afterward we’ll find a place to grab some lunch! Then back to Northern Colorado for happy hour, where we can tell everyone about how awesome it was!

Wheatland! Wahooo!

The Best Western there is even throwing a party!
