When you're thinking about those must-see attractions in the United States, you're probably thinking the Empire State Building in NYC, the Hollywood Sign in LA, but what about a World War II museum?

TripAdvisor Names Colorado Museum Among Top Attractions in the U.S.

In a recent ranking from TripAdvisor, a popular museum in Colorado made the top ten list of the best tourist attractions in the country.

National Museum of World War II Aviation Ranked #8 in the U.S.

Well-known landmarks like the NASA Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida and the Brooklyn Bridge are at the near top of the ranking along with the National Museum of World War II Aviation.

Located in Colorado Springs this museum opened in 2012 and documents the role that military aviation played in "the emergence of our nation as a world power."

"The museum tells the story of the tremendous technological advancements in aviation during the War and the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who won the air war."

Colorado Museum Outranks the Met on TripAdvisor

The museum came in at number eight on this national ranking with 4.9 out of 5 stars on TripAdvisor.

It actually beat out the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City! Isn't that crazy?
