If you're in the market for an engagement ring, then you're in luck.
Our friends in the diamond business analyzed data from 2015 to 2019 to find the average carat size of an engagement ring in every state.
And, despite our proximity to the impressive Rocky Mountains, the results showed that when it comes to engagement rings, Colorado girls prefer pretty average, well, rocks.
According to Shane Co., the average diamond carat size for the Centennial State is .90 carats, compared to the national average size of .92 carats.
Coloradans also prefer their engagement rings to be in the halo style, which features several small diamonds surrounding a center diamond or gemstone.
However, our state tends to shy away from vintage style rings, which are most popular in Louisiana, and colored rings, which are most popular in New Mexico.
