As we get ready to close out another year, Operation Enduring Freedom continues with no end in sight. While we spend time with out loved ones this holiday season and ready ourselves for 2014, lest us not forget the families that have sacrificed for us.

Today there are 1,645 American service members that are still unaccounted-for from the Vietnam War. Make that 1,644 because Col. Francis J. McGouldrick Jr. is coming home.

What does one do when a military base in Guam has a Brown Tree Snake problem? The obvious: Drop 2000 dead mice loaded with poison. Brilliant!

Sadly, the loss of life continues in 'Operation Enduring Freedom.' Since last Monday’s post, we have brought home another soldier. Although the Army has seen death in their units every week for almost a year now, last week, it was the United States Air Force who have lost one of their own.

Another week and eight (8) more soldiers who has paid the ultimate price since last Monday’s post. These warriors have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Please remember, “Freedom” isn't free at all; someone has to pay for it. Please make it a point this week to go out of your way and thank a soldier. It’s a good habit to get into! KIA States

We have sadly lost two more soldiers. Even though these two did not die in battle, they still died under our Flag while on watch. Please keep Army Spc. Cody D. Suggs and Air Force Tech. Sgt. Larry D. Bunn and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
