There are many places to choose from, and no matter how much you like to eat healthy, it is nice occasionally to get a hamburger and some fries, tacos, or a chicken sandwich. The States That Spend the Most and Least on Fast Food

The cost of eating is going up, and the cost of having fast food is the highest it has ever been. No longer can you feed a family at a fast food drive-thru for under $20. WalletHub recently released a list revealing which states spend the most on fast food and which spend the least. The study looked into the average amount of monthly income spent on fast food, and it was determined that Mississippi spends the most on fast food, with Arkansas spending the second most, and Louisiana rounding out the top three. Interestingly, they are all states in the South. The state that spends the least on fast food is New Jersey, with Maryland being the second least, and Massachusetts rounding out the bottom three. It must be a regional thing, as all three states are back east.

Colorado is among the states that spend the least. It is the 9th lowest state in spending, only spending .32% of its monthly median household income on fast food. With so many being active, living a healthy lifestyle, hiking, camping, and being outdoors, it isn't surprising to see Colorado spend less than other states. While some may argue that being on the go would make fast food more tempting, most do not want to hike on a full stomach of fast food. Some ways to save money for those who do like fast food are to budget wisely, not get it delivered to your home, and join a rewards program.
