Interestingly, they are all states in the South. The state that spends the least on fast food is New Jersey, with Maryland being the second least, and Massachusetts rounding out the bottom three. It must be a regional thing, as all three states are back east.

While some may argue that being on the go would make fast food more tempting, most do not want to hike on a full stomach of fast food.
