If you have been dreading the thought of going outside in Northern Colorado for the past couple of weeks, you are not alone. It has been hot this summer and any relief you can get is welcome. Thankfully, you won't have to wait very long as a cold front is moving into the area.

Over the past few weeks, we've seen triple-digit temperatures in Colorado. Needless to say, it has been brutal when it comes to doing things we like to do outdoors. Starting Thursday, you might want to put your shorts away for a few days and get your favorite pair of pants out of summer retirement.

Northern Colorado's Summer Cool Down

According to Denver 7, temperatures in Northern Colorado will dip 20 to 25 degrees from the previous day's highs. On Thursday, Northern Colorado is expected to only have a high of 69 degrees. This strong cold front will move through the area and could possibly bring scattered thunderstorms and rain to Northern Colorado over the next few days.

While we may be happy that the cooler weather has graced us with relief from the heat, the hot weather is far from done in Colorado. We will see a milder week next week, then the hot summer temperatures return in the low to mid-90s.
