It's no secret that I am not a sweet eater, I love my savory foods and snacks, but there are a few exceptions, including this apple tart, and I don't lie when I say you better make two.

Apple Tart, Yes Please!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

1 1/2 lbs of Granny Smith apples (about 3 or 4 depending on size), 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 4 Tbs of cold-unsalted butter, a pinch of salt, 1 tsp of lemon juice and 1 pkg of refrigerated pie dough

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:

Peel and Core the apples and then cut each able in half and cut into chunks (3 or 4 chunks per half), toss the apples in the lemon juice and pile into the center of one pie crust on a baking sheet. In a small bowl mix together the flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cut the butter into the flour mixture with a knife and fork until the butter is pea size. Cover the apples with the flour mixture and fold in the sides of the pie crust, you do not want to cover the apples, just crease in the edges of the dough until you've completed the circle.

Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes, the dough should be golden brown and the apples should be tender
