Sunday update: Authorities conducted a full scale search between 9 a.m. and about 3 p.m. on Sunday but were unable to locate the missing man. Both ground and drone teams were deployed.

Authorities are searching for a 57-year-old man who went missing Saturday afternoon on a Poudre River rafting trip.

The missing rafter from Fort Collins was part of a group of three heading down the Cache la Poudre River. Authorities say he wasn’t wearing a helmet or life jacket.

The initial rescue search lasted more than five hours and was suspended at 7:40 p.m. on Saturday. The search is scheduled to continue on Sunday.

According to a Larimer County Sheriff's Office press release, the single chamber on their inflatable raft came out in-between mile markers 107 and 108 on Highway 14. The incident occurred just after 2 p.m.

A 46-year-old-man and his 13-year-old son were the other passengers. Both made it to shore with minor injuries and were released at the scene by medical personnel.

According to the press release, the 13-year-old was the only individual of the group wearing a life jacket.

Responding to the scene were Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services, Larimer County Dive Rescue Team, Larimer County Search and Rescue, Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District, Poudre Fire Authority, U.S. Forest Service, UC Health, Life Line, and Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.
