Popular Shrimp Brand Recalled Over Radiation Concerns
I love shrimp as much as anyone. However, I wouldn't want to risk getting sick from it, especially if said shrimp contain radioactive materials. But that would never happen, right?
Well, I guess that there is always something going on with the foods we love. Recalls, health warnings, and now the possibility of radioactive shrimp being sold at one major retailer nationwide.

Certain raw frozen shrimp products that were processed by PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati, doing business as BMS Foods, located in Indonesia, could have been exposed to a radioactive isotope substance called Cesium-137, also known as Cs-137.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection alerted the FDA regarding Cesium-137 being detected in shipping containers at four United States ports, and testing on frozen shrimp from the distributor has also tested positive for the radioactive isotope.
What Consumers Need to Know Right Now
At this time, no shrimp that have been tested in the United States food supply have had a positive result for Cesium-137. The Food and Drug Administration is recommending a recall of all products from BMS Foods that were shipped after the time the company's shipping containers tested positive.
