
Popular Pizza Chain Closes its Last Location in Denver, Colorado
Many of us love pizza and like a variety of different spots. One of my all-time favorite brands was one that I discovered when I was living in Jacksonville, Florida years ago.

Luckily, there were a few locations in the state of Colorado when my wife and I returned home. Well, there were a few locations. Over the years, the closure of this pizza brand dropped to a single location in downtown Denver.

Mellow Mushroom started in Atlanta, Georgia in 1974 near the Georgia Tech campus on Spring Street. As the years went by, the trippy-themed pizzeria gained popularity and Mellow Mushroom started to expand into surrounding states.

Colorado had three Mellow Mushroom locations at one point in time, then, two of them closed. Leaving the only remaining Mellow Mushroom location in Colorado on the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver.
According to the Westword, Colorado's final Mellow Mushroom location has closed for good. Mellowmushroom.com confirms this as there is no longer a location that is shown for the last remaining pizzeria.

Located on the ground floor of the Tabor Center at the corner of 16th Street and Lawrence, Mellow Mushroom has been a staple for a great place to eat for over 15 years. Sadly, fans of the psychedelic pizzeria will have to venture out of state now to get a taste of Mellow Mushroom's pizza.
Mellow Mushroom marks one of many closures of restaurants at the 16th Street Mall. Other closures of restaurants at the downtown Denver mall include Panera Bread, Bistro LeRoux, YmaCha, and Eat 'Ya Pizza.
