Did you know that the first Old Chicago location was not in the city of Chicago or the state of Illinois? The pizzeria actually started out right here in the state of Colorado in 1976.

The first Old Chicago pizza and taproom opened up in Boulder, Colorado, nearly 50 years ago. Since then, many Old Chicago locations popped up all over the United States. My friends and I used to spend countless nights inside of an Old Chicago eating food and watching hockey games. The good old days.

Sadly, Old Chicago has been closing underperforming locations recently and another Colorado location has shut its doors for good. According to 9 News, the location in Thornton has closed as part of an ongoing evaluation of locations and their performance.

After close evaluation of the market, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close our Thornton location as of March 13.

Old Chicago said in a statement to 9 News.

Recently, Old Chicago closed one of the few locations in Northern Colorado. This location was in Loveland. Now, only two Old Chicago locations remain in the region. Fort Collins and Greeley.

Employees of the Old Chicago located at 3909 East 120th Avenue in Thornton were given the opportunity to relocate to one of the other Old Chicago locations in the state of Colorado.

With the recent closure of the Loveland and Thornton Old Chicago locations, this means that there are only 13 remaining locations for the pizzeria and taphouse in the state.

Is This The Biggest Pizza In Colorado? It's Massive...

While in Downtown Denver recently, we got to stop at Atomic Cowboy, which features the famous Denver Biscuit Company, and Fat Sully's NY Pizza. While I love the Denver Biscuit Company, the moment we walked in the doors and smelt that fantastic pizza, I knew that was what I wanted. And once I saw this massive pie, I knew that's what I NEEDED! Let's show you what I'm talking about.
