Last week, Nuggets star Nikola Jokic's brother was taken into custody after a woman claims he pushed her, and choked her during an altercation in his Denver apartment.

Police say Strahinja Jokic 37, was drinking Thursday when he became interested in the woman's past relationships. When she told Jokic about someone in her past, he blew up according to a statement obtained by Denver 7.

When the woman tried to leave the apartment, Jokic wouldn't let her leave. He allegedly pushed her and choked her. When she tried to call 911 Jokic took her phone according to a police report. Then, the woman tried to get out on his balcony to yell for help but was subdued by Jokic and told he would choke her "until she fell asleep."

The woman then retreated into a bedroom and used a messaging service on a computer to contact someone for help.

Denver 7 is reporting that Strahinja is facing charges of second-degree assault, false imprisonment and obstruction of phone service.
