In addition to the hundreds of thousands of open jobs in the state, e-commerce giant, Amazon, has announced that they are now looking to hire 4,900 workers in Colorado for their new Colorado Springs and metro Denver facilities.

The Denver Post reported that Amazon will pay an average starting wage of $18 an hour on its fulfillment and transportation side, which equates to a salary of $37,440 annually for a full-time employee.

Amazon is also offering health, vision, and dental insurance to its employees, as well as a 401(k) with a 50% match, up to 20 weeks paid parental leave, and full college tuition reimbursement.

If that's not enticing enough, some of the job openings also reportedly come with signing bonuses of up to $1,000.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, Amazon has employed 450,000 new workers nationwide, ultimately as a result of the astronomical surge in demand for online retail.

Storefronts might be reopening and the economy might be on the road to recovery, but the demand from those shopping online has not died; as such, Amazon continues to hire, and so are its delivery partners, who plan to hire an additional 125,000 workers nationwide by the end of 2021.
